A Little Bit Of Background
My husband Syd and I, along with our two sons have equity in and manage an 800Ha Sheep/Beef and cropping farm in the Kereru District, Hawke’s Bay. After much fun and a bit of study at Massey University I emerged with a Degree and worked in the Health Sector until I took up a new career in Recruitment. Post children I transferred my skills to the Primary Industry and have enjoyed being part of this people business since 2005!
What’s Important To Me
Time is precious to us all and I am fortunate to have experienced the balancing act of juggling family life and work demands – there is no better way to get an appreciation of what time means. I apply this to my business thinking and understand what the importance of efficiency, clear communication and being time-bound means to our clients.
What Happens Out Of Work
It’s fair to say it’s up and at it early in our household with boys who are sport and farming mad! We love the environment we live in and take pride in developing our surroundings. Making time for family and friends while enjoying the good (and sometimes not so good) things in life is something we try and focus on.
Some Of My Learnings
I think we take for granted what we learn in a role (be it work or family) and when you stop and take the time to reflect you see that experience is invaluable. I have been involved in Rural Directions since its inception and have seen the market evolve along with the business. Sound knowledge and experience provides a great basis to positive Employer and Job Seeker outcomes; I thrive on sharing mine with those who engage with us.
